How To Sail Through Resistance

After all these years, doing this work, I know when a theme shows up numerous times in one week it is meant for the collective.

I’ve learned that Gracon will keep poking me to get it down, and out, so we can all get the lesson and raise ourselves up.

Gracon reminds me that the guides are working on our behalf, always in an effort to align us as the frequency of Truth.

So why then, when we keep asking for “more” in our lives do we continue to offer up so much resistance in the receiving of it.

We offer up prayers for love, for money, for guidance, for health…

Those are the “biggies”—the most common requests.

And in the New Age, spiritual, law of attraction world we’re all set up to receive it, right?

‘Cause we know that “if you ask it is given”. Right?

So why do we choose to slow it all down by questioning and resisting?

Why do we doubt the validity or the timing of answered prayers?

Rich reached out to me for some guidance and support.  He has a committed spiritual practice and strives to be a very open and conscious of himself, others, and the world.

He contacted me to get recommendations for referrals, to do a past life regression.

He had a desire to “know” about certain things in his life. Not just to have a reading and have someone tell him things, but to find the place within himself that held the answers about certain aspects of his life.

He wondered about his draw to a particular town in Western New York. And he also wanted to know why he had a sense of feeling held back in his career.

He wondered why he hadn’t achieved more. Was he just apathetic? Why wasn’t he able to take on more projects and free up his energy to excel in his IT position?

I gave him my recommendations and the info that Gracon had for him.

Here he is wanting to grow, wanting to expand, wanting to reach a fuller potential. Yay! I LOVE when that happens.

A few weeks later he reached out again and his email read something like this…

“New job opportunity.”

I thought, wow! That didn’t take long.

He asked and a few weeks later the door opened. That’s pretty cool.

And then I read the rest of the email…

“I think I would benefit from discussing a new job opportunity with you. The opportunity is fantastic from a professional development and monetary standpoint, but a bit terrifying from a personal standpoint.” I don’t think I ever recovered from my last experience as a manager in a startup ten years ago. I felt like a failure.”

Gracon immediately jumps in…

“Oh dear one, we wish you could see yourself as we see you. And we are trying our very best to help you do that, to align you with the greatest parts of yourself.  You have never been a failure.  There are many stages of growth as you move up to the highest expression of your God-self. Failure is a concept of the small self.

You have questioned your ability and so we bring you everything you have asked for. You feel stifled in your current position so we bring you one that will help you thrive.  Your soul will thrive in the growth.

You have asked for financial gains and we have brought that as well.  You have asked for a means to better care for your loved ones, and we have brought that as well. We have put in front of you everything that you say would please you and make you feel alive.  Allow yourself to receive. It is only the small self that lives in the past, in judgment, in fear.”

We can’t ask for growth and expect it to happen with both feet planted firmly in the same place.

What I know to be true is that I have had to grow in ways I never, ever imagined, in order to bring my dream and vision into the real world.

Support came, but not in the ways or places I thought it would!  Sometimes it was hard to recognize. It came all wrapped up in a disguise. A BIG reason why it’s really good to take stock of your life on a weekly basis to have a look-see at what has really come in.

Rich can’t ask for growth and expansion, to reach a higher potential, and then offer up the vibrational frequency of the past.  When given a second,(or third, or fourth chance), we have to be willing to go and grow.

If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.

Rich went on to say in his email…

“I think I can probably do the work, but I can’t say I am excited about it. It sounds like a lot of responsibility (building and managing a team and making sound business decisions for what may become a billion dollar business in five years).”

A-ha, Redemption! Gracon points out…

“You felt like a failure and have been carrying that with you all these years and so we would love to assist you from releasing that frequency from your body, mind, and spirit…as so we bring to you another fabulous opportunity to show you just how amazing you can be at managing a billion dollar industry…and you are saying…

No, never mind, I don’t really want to grow.

I don’t really want more money, more self-worth, to feel more alive, and inspired and capable. I’ll just stay here and wallow in my small-self, wondering why I don’t achieve more.”

Do you see the comedy and irony?

Rich and I did set up an appointment.

Gracon shared his wisdom through me. I also shared with Rich some wisdom from my journey out of pain, illness, and cancer.

My road has been filled with challenges but it’s because I never said no to the growth.  Staying where you are is EASY. And requires absolutely no effort on your part.

Trusting yourself takes growth!

Trusting that you are worthy of more takes growth.

Trusting that your body knows how to be healthy takes growth.

Staying where you are and listening to the talk of the small-self does not facilitate growth or change.

But if you are going to place your order to the Universe you must be willing to receive it.

It is exactly like going to a restaurant.

First off, if you keep changing your order the waiter is never going to be able to bring the dish to the table. Get clear on your order and stick with it.

Check your heart and soul and order what you really want.

Then sit at the table, relaxing, enjoying the atmosphere, until the server brings you your individually prepared dish.

Think about how the chef is back there pouring all of his skill and experience into making you the exact meal you asked for. (Yes even the one with the special substitutions, he’s gonna get it right.)

Don’t be impatient, don’t question if the chef knows how to make it just the way you like. Don’t fret about any of it.  Just invest your energy in knowing you are going to savor every single bite.

Trust!

It might not come on the type of china you expected.  Be willing to accept the fabulous meal that is placed in front of you.

As Rich and I spoke, he talked about doing what would be the “easier” thing to do.

I explained to him, the easiest thing for me to do would have been to stay in a cushy nursing job, hanging out, status quo, able to do my work with my eyes closed.

And I’d likely still be in a wheel chair and maybe even dead… as a result of cutting myself off from my divinity and the growth and goodness that God had planned for me.

My path has been anything but easy but I wouldn’t change any of it because I opened to the fullness of God, and Love, and all of Life.

I could have gotten “here” much sooner–with less resistance and more Trust.

The only way you build more trust is by being willing to risk something.

I reminded Rich that Jesus did not choose the “easier” path.  And how lucky we are that we will not be hung on a cross today for spreading light and love.

I encouraged him to ponder the idea that perhaps God wants him to see just how great and capable he is? He wants him to have another chance at shining his light and putting his self-doubt and inner critic to rest.

Now one side note that is so important…while we are learning to trust and accept our divine path…

Make no mistake that what we’re really talking about in all of this is that we are energy beings.   In the process of growth and receiving our physical bodies and frequencies change.

This is the process of awakening, aligning, and embodying our God-self frequency. It is pure! It is a higher frequency than what we have been carrying to this point.

It isn’t always about creating peace.

Yes, you will get to that place of peace when the resonance is raised but there’s a REALLY good chance that you are going to go through some muckity-muck as you level-up.

Um…I know you’ve heard of the dark night of the soul J

Yeah, it can be scary, but I can tell you that you have now, like no other time in history, the full support of highly, highly, evolved beings to move you through the muck…

Into your highest expression of health, joy, and love.

Rich and I had a few more conversations and email exchanges.

He wrote, “Thank you again, Martha. Your message is really profound. I have been seeking only that which brings me peace. But how to know when something that does not bring a feeling of inner peace is the right thing to do?”

And Gracon says… “We believe that you have confused yourself with the idea of inner peace. Inner peace does not mean that there are no challenges in your life. Inner peace occurs when you accept yourself and stop fighting against your divinity. When you see the Truth of who you are that is inner peace. Inner peace is the dissolution of the inner critic. And the reflection of that becomes manifest in your outer world.”

He reminds us that God can only do for us what he can do through us.

God knows. The body knows.

The only one that doesn’t “know” is our small self…the one that created the fear in the first place.

I’m happy to tell you that Rich sailed through his resistance and accepted a new position of opportunity, growth, and financial rewards. Yes, some fears still remain but he’s willing to feel them and move through them to reveal his brilliance to himself and the rest of the world.
